Minors finish South Antrim league with battling victory
Tuesday 29th June saw the minors travel to the Glen Rd to play St.Teresa's in the last game of the South Antrim season, with half a dozen players being unavailable due to holidays we were down to the bare minimum and that included young Fitz and Padraig Liggott.
Battling into a strong wind in the first half they were never behind with Marty Neill scoring a rare goal and narrowly missing another, once again we were on the end of a lot of debatable refereeing decisions with Paddy Nolan receiving a straight red for alleged retaliation. With Donaghy's dead-ball accuracy back to normal and good work all round the lads were a point to the good at half-time.
A good start to the second half gave a bit of breathing space with the two youngsters in the full-forward both getting on the scoresheet and working their socks off. St. Teresa's were still well in the game especially with a man advantage though scores from both McCav and Fra keeping their noses in front, in the midst of all this atrocious refereeing once again led to Marty Neill being send to the touchline for complaining to the referee about being fouled! To give the lads a hell of a lot of credit they kept battling to the end and after St.Teresa drew level with 5 minutes to go it was appropriately left to Piaras to have the final say as he made no mistake from a 45' and leave the final scoreline St.Teresa's 0-13 Pearses 1-11.
As stated earlier this was a very hard fought win, the attitude of the players was excellent and they showed it would take more than dodgy refereeing to deny them.

Seniors earn tough point
The seniors earned a tough point at home to a strong Eire Og who are on a bit of a run lately. Pearses were 6pts behind at the break but a great effort from all players in the 2nd half brought them back into it and indeed could have nicked it at the end had Piaras Donaghys long range free gone over. Donaghy had been instrumental in the comeback with a great goal at the very start of the half. The seniors only have a few games left this season and this point keeps them on course for a top 4 finish, the best since the team was reformed 3 years ago.
Seniors back to winning ways!!
Pearses 2-09 St Agnes 0-08
Pearses Seniors returned to winning ways tonight to cement their place in the top 4 of the league table. A good solid performance from all players meant the team led throughout and at times played some champagne football. The task will be much harder next week against table toppers O'Donnells. All seniors are expected to be at training sunday at 12.30 at the crickey

Senior and Minor football this week
The minors and seniors where both in action this week and both suffered heavy defeats. The Minors lost to the Johnnies @ Corrigan Pk on Tuesday night in the league, before the seniors were beaten by St Galls on Thursday by 4-10 1-06 in the Martin cup quarter final. A lot of work is still needed by both panels and all players are expected to be at training on sunday morning 12.30 at the Cricky.
Senior Football
The Senior footballers last night copied the Minors in bouncing back from a resounding defeat by Sarsfields in their previous game. In shocking conditions the Seniors put in an excellent performance away to St Galls to take their first point away from the Milltown venue since the senior team was reformed. The team infact was very unlucky not to take full points as they were leading by 2 points with 4 minutes left. The result maintains the teams place in the top half of the league table and sets up what should be a fantastic championship match away to St Galls in a few weeks time. The final score was St Galls 1-06 Pearses 0-09
Minor Football
An excellent win from the U18's to bounce back from their hammering by Sarsfields. The Minors beat St Pauls 3-14 1-04
Senior Football
The Senior Football squad were last night given a lesson in football from a very strong Sarsfields team who comfortably beat them 2-15 1-01. While the panel was missing 8 regulars and 5 of last weeks starting 15 due to injury and work committments, this does not excuse the performance and all players are expected to be at the cricky on Sunday morning for training at 12.30 sharp.
U14 HURLERS RETAIN FEILE B TITLE!!!!
Our U14 Hurlers tonight won the feile title for the second year in a row. They beat St Pauls at Musgrave by a scoreline of 3-04 to 1-02. The match was all but over with 6 minutes left and the score standing at 3-04 to 0-00 however a late St Pauls fight back meant Pearses had to fight right to the end.
